Why not try upgrading to the latest version of Freeway before asking for help! The developers need everyone to keep their software up to date, but especially if you expect any help! What is going on? I desperately needs to get this back up again today!! Anyone?įreewaytalk mailing your subscriptions at:
Starting up the machine Freeway Pro (5.5) crashes when it is trying to publish the same site (without any changes to the site or the computer!!) It warns me that it is going to overwrite HTML files belonging to another site… and then crash! I turned off the computer and was away for five days. I did some editing to this site about a week ago, saved it, published and uploaded - no problems. If it comes to this, I’ll dig out my description of a bubble sort for you, which is a very fast way to find a problem like this. If it comes down to fonts, then you will need to hunt and peck through the fonts you have used, either in FontBook or whichever third-party font manager you use, and disable them half at a time until you find the one that is causing you grief. Return to that, locate the image on the page, and delete it from the page. If it fails, you at least know where to start looking: return to the dialog (after you restart Freeway) and instead of using Resample All, click the resample button on each image until you find the one that goes boom. If this succeeds, then you have a much greater chance of the site being okay from now on. Open the Edit / Resources dialog, and click Resample All at the bottom of the dialog. Next, check into the images and other external resources you have used on your site. In the File / Site Preferences dialog, click on the Site Folder button, and choose or create a new folder.
That’s okay, because the site folder on your Mac is just a “cache” so you don’t have to publish everything, only the things that have changed. Freeway has gotten confused, and does not recognize the site it published. You can narrow this down by following the following steps.įirst, get rid of the “overwrite another site” warning by changing the site folder (on your Mac) where you publish the site. Crashes while publishing are overwhelmingly caused by corrupted artwork or fonts.
